Built around Aguilar's noted OBP-3 preamp, this unit packs such a wallop that it hammers home that elusive bass tone you've always been searching for. With a full-range Mid sweep control in addition to controls for Bass and Treble — and a super-transparent DI circuit — the Tone Hammer lets you take charge on stage or in the studio. And if you are stuck playing through a ho-hum bass rig, the Tone Hammer is the perfect quick fix. Just run it into the amp's Effects Return and you have instant, legendary Aguilar tone coursing through your amp's power side. Aguilar incorporated its own Adaptive Gain Shaping circuit  — call it AGS — into this powerful tone-shaping unit to give the player an EQ'd gain boost with a single stomp. This features slings you instantly from slap tones to tire-peeling vintage overdrive. And with its 18-Volt operating system, the Tone Hammer gives you all the headroom you need for any bass style. Controls for Gain and Master let you bring the right amount of gain to any instrument in your bass arsenal. Other features include: 1/4-inch input jack; 1/4-inch output jack; nominal output XLR (14 dBu balanced); +/- 18dB of Bass boost/cut @ 40 Hz; +/- 17 dB of Mid boost/cut @ 180 Hz–1 kHz; and +/- 18dB of Treble boost/cut @ 4 kHz.
